1. No God Modding and/or Power Playing
2. No Cybering
3. Be literate, absolutely no n00bs. I will allow n00bish behavior on the forums due to the fact this is a 'what the heck let's have fun' forum. But you do not want to know what I do to n00bs in the role playing section.
4. Please put up M in the subject title if it will be or might be mature.
5. Also place up the letters B (Beginner), A (Advanced), or S (Skilled) within your intro post somewhere. If you really want to, you may also use the Ranking of OMFGWWWY. I'll explain later in this post.
6. If you are OOC, you have to use (),{}, or [] to notify the people around you.
7. No Mary or Gary Sues, I will shoot them.
Rankings
B(Beginner)- These role plays I'm not going to pay much attention to when enforcing rules and what not. These you can just get your friends together and wrack your brains until you find something to role play with. One liners are fine, as long as your fellow role players don't care, I don't either. If you REALLY want to post something like "ok" then... I guess I can't come do anything about it.
A(Advanced)- The minimum for these role plays are a paragraph per post.
S(Skilled)- Two to three paragraphs per post. That's about my average per post.
OMFGWWWY- Yeah... That stands for 'Oh my f*cking gosh what's wrong with you'. In these role plays, the minimum is ten paragraphs. Yeah, I have actually role play with people who can type that much, they kinda scare me. I'm not sure if any of you are one of these people, but they're really fun to role play once you get the hang of it. Even if they make you feel a bit... small at times, lol.
What Is Role Playing?
Well... It's when you play a role of a character. Here's how I think of it. It's like writing a story except with alot of people you have never met before in your life and only controlling your claimed characters. In short, it's creating a story line using a general plot. You can put alot of things in your post. Write what your character is thinking, doing, saying, and their surroundings and history. You can add tidbits here and there in every post. You can control more than one character if the thread maker allows it. My record is eight I think... if you have other characters and you don't know what to do. You might as well make them converse, but don't forget about the other people in the rp. I mean, if you wanted to just talk to yourself, you don't have to come online.
How to Make Your own Role Play
First thing's first. You need to decide what your role play will be about and come up with a plot. If you can come up with absolutely nothing yet you are in NEED of making a role play, you can make a random one and see if any one has any ideas. Please note if I expand the role playing section of the forum, these will be allowed ONLY in the beginners section, even if you want to make it literate. After that, you need to decide if this is an opened or closed rp. Maybe you want to do an rp with invites only, or maybe it's limited. If it is invite only, please say so in your subject heading, same with limited. If you have chosen limited, you need to type up the possible positions and characters. So others know when they can't join. I have also seen people type up characters along with their personality and what not and have others apply to be them. Or you can do it the common way. Just type up the profile layout for your rp. Here's the most common ones I've seen for realistic rps.Name:
Age:
Gender:
Personality:
History:

Fantasy ones usually add in Race, powers, weapons, and what not. If you are going to make an E or OMFGWWWY rp, profile layouts will not be allowed. You will have to describe and tell all the things in the beginning post.
Common Terms of Role Playing
God Modding/Power Playing: This is when someone controls someone else's character. It happens very frequently when one is fighting. For example, you can say something like. "Mark punched Matt with all the strength he had." But not "Mark punched Matt and Matt went flying back against the wall due to Mark's strength." This is because you are not Matt. For all you know, Matt could have dodged so Mark didn't hit him. Mark can punch Matt, but Matt doesn't have to stand there and be punched. Get it? Though if Matt always freakin dodges then it's no fun and it's God Mode. What's God Mode you ask? Keep reading.
God Mode: This is when people make unrealistic situations or when there character can do EVERYTHING. It's one thing to have super natural powers and what not, but you can't be undefeatable. There's still some reality in the world of fantasy, if that makes any sense. This brings us to the next topic...
Mary/Gary Sue: Perfect characters. NO ONE IS PERFECT! (Except six particular guys I know...) What fun about perfect people? I swear, I'm gonna shoot every one I catch. We'll see how perfect and happy they are when they're dead.
RP: Role Play
IC: In Character
OOC: Out of Character. This is when you have something to say as your self and not your character. Let's say I'm gonna be going for the night. (Hey, I have to go guys. Bye!) It's in parenthesis above or below your role play post because you are saying it, not your character.
Cybering: Writing out sex scenes in your rp. Take it to the PMs if you really must. Please and thank you.
Yeah... That's all I have at the moment. I'll add on more later if the need comes.
