Yes. I have all of their CDs. I have seen them in concert once before, and I hope to see them again when they come to Richmond this May. Dave Mustaine is kind of a personal hero of mine, as crazy as that may sound.
I wonder who that user is; I am very curious if it is someone I know, lol.

Dillon said that \m/ is a universal sign for metal brethren. I laughed, but I guess he was right. Wow, I would have never guessed.

I got into it after my brother did. I still don't like them as much as some other bands, but Trev's a diehard fan. I wish I could see them on the 9th, but I won't be done with finals yet

Lawl yes I'm my brother's brother! Megadeth rules, there's no doubt about it. I have yet to see them in concert, but I own half their cd's and the rest of the songs I bought via iTunes. Also got The Big 4 dvd. Unfortunately the closest I ever got to seeing them in concert was going to a theater to watch The Big 4 live via satellite, which unfortunately does not compare to a real concert. I wanted to see em at Rock on the Range in Ohio along with Anthrax and a couple other cool bands this summer, but alas I don't believe I'll have the resources to afford such a trip! What are the tickets priced at for the Richmond concert?

It's been quite a while since I have started listening to them, so I don't remember the exact details off-hand.
Their guitar work is truly impressive and mind-boggling to me, as an amateur guitar player. Their songwriting and instrumentation is very technical and very impressive. And I always agree with the message of the lyrics. And Dave Mustaine, the frontman, is someone that I can relate to very closely. A lot of people hate him, but I think his personal story is inspirational, and I think he is a great guy with a lot of interesting stuff to say. Great band

And it's $42 for a ticket. That's a little high for my liking, but that's not that bad compared to other high profile metal concerts out there. But still. I saw them in 2010 with Testament and Exodus in Norfolk, VA for $31. The best $31 I have ever spent!

Yeah I gotta agree, I mostly agree with his messages. The only thing that has turned me off from him lately has been his support of Santorum D: I mean, I had nothing against him for being Christian but having Christianity being the driving reason behind voting for that guy? Come on, logic comes first! I do think of all the metal musicians, he's the most legitimately "metal," the rest just play an image, it seems, because they think it's cool but they've had relatively simple lives and few bones to pick. Mustaine was practically born with a chip on his shoulder, and it must of been Lays, because he couldn't have just one!
I only wish more bands could have a comparable sound to the music he made during his Youthanasia and Countdown to Extinction era, those are a couple of my favorite albums and also severely underrated I believe. I guess one thing that can be said of Megadeth, they've always found something new to do, they haven't really copied their own style for more than a couple albums at a time, and now that they've evolved, even Th1rt3en, which is supposed to go back to their roots more, sounds radically different than Killing is my Business...

Unless he recently changed his mind, he never supported Santorum. He actually released a press release to clarify what he said. Apparently it got taken out of context in the media, where he actually said that he supported Santorum spending time with his family on the campaign trail, but it got interpreted as him endorsing Santorum.
But yeah, I agree. Nobody else out there has had the level of anger that Dave has had in his music, which makes the music more authentic, and that much better.
