I severely dislike Obama, and will be firmly part of the anyone-but-Obama vote.

I'll vote Paul regardless, I don't care if he has a heart attack and dies before the election, that's who I'm votin for!

Hahahaha. I love Paul, but his belief in the Gold Standard and his stance on foreign policy ruin it for me.

I'll admit I'm not all for Paul, but come on, what politician out there has all the right answers anyways? Besides, I don't think we want ANOTHER war within the next 4 years, let alone that fact that we couldn't afford one. I say get Paul in there now, and if the world is different and more violent and needing of military intervention 4 years from now, we can elect someone else when our budget is more under control and we're a more rational nation.
I don't think Paul is in support of a strict gold standard, he just wants a hard currency backed by SOMETHING. My guess is he'd be in support of a basket of commodities, not just gold. We couldn't afford a strict gold standard, though I strongly believe we could use one.

No, I agree with most of what you say with Paul, I think that congress would prevent his more radical stuff that I disagree with from being passed anyways. Looks like a Romney - Obama fight though, and I guess I'll be putting as much support as I can behind Romney, however much I dislike his "say what needs to be said" attitude.
and Ivs, I think explaining everything I dislike about him would take way too long, but a few major points: he isn't what he says he is. he's a politician, not a leader. he attacks the republicans and tries to appeal to liberals, but his presidency has been, if anything, utterly moderate. he blames everything on Bush, yet a large majority of his policies are simply expanding upon what Bush did. make a list of what you hate about Bush, and i'll show you the parallels. his blatant disregard for the deficit is not only stupid, but dangerous, look at Europe.
those first three were the "he's incompetent" argument. on a more theological level, i'm a firm believer that government intervention isn't a good thing, and by that standard, his one major political success (drones and the killing of Bin Laden were a Bush policy), health care, I think is a disaster, and i'm fervently hoping the Supreme Court overthrows it. which seems likely at this point. when that happens, he will literally have no achievements to stand upon. the economy has gotten worse since he took over, the situation with Iran is a mess, and he's expanded government power to a previously unseen level.
for the record, I hate Bush as well. I think he was a better person, seems more honestly mistaken to me incomparison to my view of Obama as simply being dangerous, but for the country, as much of a failure if not more so than Obama.
