I'd actually like it if everyone made their character's actually themselves for this specific role play.
Feel free to add yourself to the role play at any time, you can jsut pretend you've been trapped in one of the rooms for ages. hah
Plot: A few college students heard about a haunted house that was coming to town. They found it odd, considering it was February, which was nowhere near Halloween. Still, with nothing better to do, they headed out towards the address. Little did they know that this was no normal haunted house. It was a maze that would personalize each room to a specific person's deepest fears and most shaking insecurities. Each room is locked until the targeted person can overcome the darkness, and the player advances. At times, the group will be separated, and members will be lost. Will the college students manage their escape, or be trapped forever?

Name: Dillon Age/year/major: 20/Junior/Chemical Engineering History/Fears/Insecurities: He has moved across the country and has lived with different family members at different times. To say the least, his family is quite complex and highly dysfunctional. He is the younger brother of a set of twins, and had never spent more than 2 weeks apart from his brother until his first year in college. This resulted in a feeling of dependence on other people, which he mediated by living for others. He has a fear of heights, but can manage to overcome it fairly easily. His greatest fears, however, are darkness and isolation. His biggest insecurity is pretty much anything and everything that could possibly result in an awkward situation, but over time, that concern has started to disappear.

Name: Trevor Buh Age/Year/Major: 20/Junior/Economics History/Fears/Insecurities: Same early history as Dillon, in high school he fell in love with his "high school sweetheart," and was mostly just working through life focusing on his goals. He got engaged when he went off to college and was not particularly concerned with making friends. In the start of his junior year, she cheated on him over "irreconcilable differences" and he left her as a result. Since then he's been trying to get back on his feet. In general, his belief is that his life is and will always be 3 steps forward, 2 steps back, and that a disproportionate amount of work is required of him to achieve what everybody else achieves out of luck. Because his biggest fear had already come true, he fears nothing other than getting in trouble with the overreaching arm of the law and running out of money. His biggest insecurity is his value as a person and whether he'll successfully achieve his perhaps overly ambitious goals.

His mother took his father to court for custody over Joshua and won. The evil life that once embedded Joshua with horrifying dreams, depression, and disaster has finally been vanquished. Though this past has given Joshua experience to better live life and be happy, he cannot help but gaze back occasionally and look how life treated him.

Name: Will Age/year/major: 18/Sophmore/Business History/Fears/Insecurities: He comes from a troubling past where he tended to ridicule people around him, also a known prankster. He grew up with not much support from his family but a lot of love and support from a group of friends who tend to put up with his mischief. He hopes to eventually change and become more likable, until then he still messes around with people. His greatest fear is being alone, and no one to laugh with or at him. It really irks him to not have people completely ignore him.

The daunting, old mansion overlooked the abandoned courtyard. A sharp creak sounded as the strong winds pushed the rusty old swing set to the side, as if in remembrance of a lonely child that once visited. Ivy took a nervous look back towards the car that was parked at the bottom of the hill, as she pulled Dillon a little closer. The gargoyle statues perched at the top of the mansion was really starting to make her reconsider their little adventure. Ivy wasn't really so much of a thrill chaser, generally content with spending most of time indoors and online. It was the twins and their adventurous spirit that generally got her in trouble. Trevor and Dillon had a love for exploring, amongst some of their past adventures included abandoned insane asylums, tuberculosis hospitals, and amusement parks.
Taking a look back at the small group of friends of whom had decided to join them, Ivy tried not to let her cowardice show. She had been to a few haunted houses, generally at carnivals or amusement parks. However, those were obviously for fun and young children. She didn't feel the least bit threatened in them, but found them fairly comical. Here, the house looked genuinely haunted by lost souls. Ivy wouldn't be surprised to find an ax murdered waiting for them in one of those many rooms. Anyways, weren't haunted houses supposed to be attended with someone to greet you at the door? Didn't they have to pay for entrance? The closest thing to that was a sign that said, enter at your own risk. Even that cliche did nothing to dull Ivy's growing fears, As they entered, the dim hallway was lit only by the light peeking out of the door from another room.
"Guys, I don't know about this..."
The door shut behind them, and the lock clicked close.

"Well, the door is stuck I think. That's what happens when people don't maintain these places properly!" Trevor scoffed "Well we'll worry about it when we try to leave, worse comes to worst, we'll just bust out a window or something. It's not like this house was gonna be on the front of Home and Garden magazine anyways!"
Trevor was quite content despite the dark setting that he and the rest of the gang found themselves in. He was very unconcerned with anything other than getting caught, but once he was inside the looming mansion, he felt quite comfortable knowing that the law would not be of concern on this day.
More than anything else, Trevor's bravery and boldness came from his disinterest in his present life. Ever since he could remember, he was always looking 10 steps ahead and living for the future. But when he split with his ex-fiance, nearly every one of his plans for the future fell apart and he was left with only the present to deal with. Not satisfied with the present and now with no significant landmarks on the horizon of his future, his outlook on life was notably different. What exactly defined him at this point was hard to say, but carelessness became a prominent feature. One thing that hasn't changed about him, however, is his fascination with antiquities and treasure.
"Alright, you guys figure out where you wanna go, I'm gonna look around this room for some cool stuff. This place is insanely old, there's bound to be some old coins or silverware in one of these pieces of furniture!"

"There are probably also a few skeletons or something as well." as Will walked towards the door. Will began to look at the door to figure out how the door closed. As he did he began to ponder if there were cameras around the house and this was all a trick.
While looking for cameras Will opens a door to find a very old fashion bathroom. All the appliances were completely rusty and there were cobwebs in every corner of the room.
"Well there are no rare coins here, but there is a really old plunger, it might be of some value." Will scoffs. "Or maybe this soap dish?" As he picks of the soap dish, Will is dropped into the floor below the rest of the students.
As Will begins to fall, he wonders if he would even make it to his next birthday, as it is towards the end of the month. And then darkness.
"A little help anyone?" Says Will from the basement. "It doesn't look like there are any valuables down here either. Help me out!"

Dillon was always afraid of haunted houses, mainly for the sudden surprises they can bring. He couldn't deny it, Will falling through the floor made him jump a little. He was thankful he planned a little better this trip, though. Two flashlighs, some water, a bag of peanuts and some beef jerky, a cell phone, a his pocket knife, he was pretty well prepared. He knew this trip was going to be an exciting one. With no apparent danger, aside from the structural integrity of the house, they could stay for a while.
Dillon carefully analyses the situation. "Realistically, we can't just jump down after him, that's almost a two story drop," he says to the rest of the group. He then yells out, "Are you alright, Will? We're going to get you out, we just gotta find a safer way down there."
Dillon takes a good look of the layout of the room. The doorway from which they entered was located exactly in the center of the house, so one could assume there existed rooms to the left, right, front, above, and below. The living room which they were all standing in was fairly large, and off to the left was some dusty furniture surrounding an old brick fireplace that looks like has seen some use somewhat recently. Directly to the left was the doorway leading to the bathroom in which Will fell. A little further down on the left was a hallway leading to the left wing of the house, and an equally ominous looking hallway was located on the right side, leading to the right wing of the house. Several badly damaged cabinets that looked like they once held relics of a different time lined the right side of the room, along with some other decorative but damaged objects, like a grandfather clock, a couple of tables with what used to be flowers in cracked vases as centerpieces. Directly to the right was a door that was slightly open with faint light peaking through the crack, and from what could be immediately seen, it was probably a library or study. Straight ahead was a hall which probably lead to the dining area and kitchen. On either side of that hall were two doors, both completely closed and unlikely to have been opened for some time. Several torn, dusty ornate rugs were laying on the floor, and paintings around the fireplace were starting to crack from age. From the ceiling hung a chandelier which swayed gently from the constant shifting of the house. Dillon made a mental note to ensure no one walked directly under it. He was sure it would support itself, but he's always been overly cautious about small things like that. The last prominent feature of the room was a staircase leading to the upstairs, once again with hallways running off to the left and right.
"One of those doors over there must lead to the basement," Dillon said with a sense of certainty, pointing straight ahead. "We should split the group up, and have a couple people stay up here in the bathroom while the rest of us go downstairs to try to get to him. That way we can all stay in contact. If anybody shows up, whether they're cops, gang members, or people like us, call me."
Dillon grabbed Ivy by the hand as he motioned Trevor to the doors lying ahead. "I'm betting it's the one on the left!" Dillon said, recalling the times they would bet on which elevator would open first. "Josh and Jenny, you two stay here and keep an eye on Will the best you can. I know it's dark down there, but just keep talking to him."

"Okay," Josh proclaimed, "Anything I can do to help! Just be careful! I don't want anything bad happening. Make sure to watch for the rest of the floors for any time of warping in the wood. Good luck!"
Joshua never really wanted to go inside. He was really fearful of the bad presence that he felt while pacing back and forth in the archaic living room. He didn't really know Jenny or even Will for that matter but he knew he must stay calm to keep others from panicking. "It's going to be okay Will," Joshua shouted as he walked to the bathroom and glanced down the cracked hole where Will had fallen through. "Dillon and the others are coming to get you so don't leave the room!"
In the bathroom, he noticed that there was something behind the shower curtains. As he carefully walked around the shattered floor. As he slowly slid the shower curtains away, he saw something that completely petrified him. The remnants of what appeared to be a skeleton was laying in the tub. Inside the decaying rib cage of the human-like object was what appeared to be a long written note. As Joshua precariously picked up the note, he shakily stared at it while trying to make sense of the writing. He couldn't understand any of the writing nor knows what language it is. "I'll just ask everyone else what this says later," Joshua thought to himself. As he was pondering about the different possibilities the note could portray, he completely forgot that Will was still in the basement-like area.
"Jenny, are you alright? I hope you're doing okay," as Joshua says while walking back in the living room. I'm going to check back up on Will, " as Joshua turns back to the bathroom. "How are you doing down there Will? Do you see anything?"

"I am not moving from this spot!" Jenny said. She watched Joshua's silhouette merge into one with the darkness. Not quite the reassuring feeling she was looking for at all. It wasn't that Jenny was scared or anything, but the fact is, the dark was not her forte. She didn't like telling many people, but her eyes can never quite adjust well when it came to lights out. And even if there was the dullest bulb flickering, her vision range was quite limited.
"I should have followed Ivy," Jenny said quietly to herself. She stood still in the darkness, listening to the moans and groans of the abandoned mansion. It was nerve-wrecking, being alone in the dark.
