Alright, I'll admit that this one just barely makes it into the category of realistic...
Plot:
Catherine and Adam have always seemed like the perfect couple in school. Everyone envied their relationship. Catherine was in line to be valedictorian, she was the star of their school's choir, and she was extremely likable. Her parents, very religious, wanted the best for their daughter and sometimes pushed too hard. On her way to see Adam, on their 3 year anniversary, Catherine got into a car crash. Adam, the perfect boyfriend, visited her everyday until she woke up 6 months later- right before the start of their senior year. Now here are the missing components of this perfect story of the so called perfect couple. Catherine wasn't happy with the relationship, but she didn't know how to tell Adam. Everyone in school, and her parents thought he was perfect for her. Catherine had only ever lived her life to everyone else's expectation. In reality, about five months prior to the accident, she and Adam's best friend, Jacob, had started developing feelings for one another. Shamefully, they acted upon those feelings and hid them from public eye.
Catherine awoke with no recollection of the past, to everyone's dismay. The doctor told the family, that their best bet in getting her memory to spark, is to let her live her life as usual. Hopefully, familiarity will be a large factor in her healing. Adam knew that this was when Catherine needed him the most, which is why the guilt begins to consume him. In the six months that Catherine had been in the hospital, he had indeed visited her everyday. However, Catherine's sister, Lindsey, had also visited often. Over the course of time together in the hospital, Adam realized that he had much more in common with Lindsey and the past 3 years with Catherine had more been about expectation and convenience than love. Lindsey had always secretly had a crush on her older sister's boyfriend, but had been too scared to voice her feelings. Lindsey lived constantly in Catherine's shadow. She could never expect someone to pick her over Catherine. She was overjoyed to hear Adam's confession of his feelings towards her. However, they both agreed they needed to tell Catherine before their relationship advanced.
When the doctor spoke of amnesia, Adam and Lindsey both knew that they had to keep up the charade for Catherine's sake. They needed to help her heal before causing any more damage. They had each other, and Catherine had them- but what of Jacob? Jacob, the boy who was madly in love with Catherine, despite the fact that she no longer knew of his existence?
The role play starts as Catherine awakes. Apply to be a character!
