Story line:
Jason Mitchel entered the restaurant, running his hands through his blond hair as he took an irritated look at his watch. He was half an hour late due to his clingy girlfriend. He wished he could get rid of her, but she was just way too hot. Plus, there was no one else to replace her at the moment, so she would have to do until he found a new target. Scanning the massive amount of people present, Jason grinned as he spotted only one of his best friends lounging in one of the booths. At least he wasn't the last to arrive, but Jason knew Lucas was going to give him crap about it anyways. It wasn't his fault the kid had no life!
Lucas Tyler was gorgeous, and Jason had no problem admitting that as long as every one acknowledged the fact he was even better. Jason took a second to watch his friend's effect on the female population of the room. Lucas was the most intelligent out of them, Jason was the most athletic out of them, and Nathaniel was the most attractive out of them. The three boys had grown up together knowing it as a fact. With his dark brown hair and sea blue eyes, Lucas was attractive. He was actually quite depressing at times, looking as if he was always in deep thought. Jason shook his head, if it wasn't for Luke's stubborn no dating rule, he would have girls hanging all over him. Oh well, more for Jason.
Coming up from behind slowly, he gave Lucas a firm slap on the back, causing the boy to practically jump out of his seat. He was positively emo looking. While all the other teenagers in the room were busy socializing, Lucas had chosen the seat farthest away from the rest of society. Jason shook his head with a playful smirk; the kid had to loosen up. Jason commonly referred to Lucas as 'the kid' even though everyone knew Lucas was the most mature and Jason was the least.
"Damn it Jay! Stop sneaking up on me all the time!"
"Calm down, I was only messing with you," Jason's brown eyes practically sparkled as he smirked with glee.
Just as Lucas was about to resume his seat, Nathaniel Clarkson, the last to arrive, seemed to appear from thin air as he also slapped Lucas on the back, causing the boy to fall forward into the booth. Jason and Nathaniel gave each other a high five as the solemn boy sat muttering what they assumed to be curses and pledges of revenge.
"What took you two so long?" Lucas demanded.
"Laura wouldn't let me go until she knew everything and anything about where I was going. She's like a second mother," Jason complained.
"Except you don't sleep with your mother, right?" Nathaniel faked a straight face.
Ignoring the question, Lucas turned to Nathaniel. "And what's your excuse?"
"I had to break up with Britney,"
"It's only been three days," Jason frowned, before adding, "Can I have her then?"
"Go for it," he shrugged, looking around for the waiter.
"You two are impossible," Lucas shook his head, "Nathaniel, have you ever been the one to get dumped?"
"Nope," the green-eyed boy answered carelessly before giving his order to their waiter.
"I bet you couldn't get someone to break up with you even if you wanted to."
Jason, who had just been preoccupied with flirting, suddenly turned back, his attention focused for once. Lucas didn't like the mischievous smile on his face. "How much?"
"Are you serious?" Lucas stared in disbelief.
Jason, who was always a lover of games, spoke up quickly.
"I've got it! This is going to be a competition. First one to accomplish their set goal wins. Nathan, you have to date Faith Marshal and some how get her to break up with you. Luke, you're not only going to get Alexandra Stanford to ask you out, but you're going to make her become a love sick puppy and obey to your every command."
Both boys began talking at once.
"Shut up, one at a time!" Jason glanced back and forth, "You first, cause Luke is always a downer."
"Who's Faith Marshal? And why does Luke get the easy bet?"
"Faith Marshal is a sophomore, very pretty, a complete pushover. She's deemed the nicest girl in school. She is so easy to control unless she's made a promise, then she's worst than Alex. Luke has it pretty bad actually. Alex is an independent feminist who thinks all men are scum. …She is kind of hot though. I've tried asking her out before, she wouldn't even acknowledge me."
"Like hell I'm going with your idiotic plan," Lucas growled. "You know I can't let girls distract me."
"God, you sound like my mother," Nathaniel rolled his eyes.
"It's senior year and we've pretty much got everything ready for college. Have some fun. The winner gets complete control over the losers for the rest of our lives," Jason agreed.
"If I go along with this, you have to date Charlotte Boyde-"
"And get her to sleep with me?"
"In your dreams, you're not allowed to sleep with any one until this bet is over. You lose if you do. You have to get her parents to want you as a son-in-law after you two begin to date,"
"But she's a religious prude!" Jason protested loudly.
"Also, her parents hate you," Lucas smirked.
"What do you mean her parents hate me?" he demanded.
"They're my neighbors, my family is really good friends with them. Charlotte hates you too by the way; she thinks you're an egotistic jerk who can't keep it in his pants."
Nathaniel shrugged taking a bite out of his burger, "Hey, we think that too and we don't hate Jay."
"True," Jason shrugged. "Fine, I can do it."
"So we're starting tomorrow?" Lucas sighed.
"Does that mean you're in?" Nathaniel grinned.
"Do I have a choice?"
